MISSIONARY FACILITIES DIRECTOR

POSITION OPEN ONLY TO US CITIZENS

This is a full-time, Christian missionary position. Housing is available on the campus of the Haitian American Friendship Foundation (HAFF) in Bohoc, Haiti. 

 

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Missionary Facilities Director to play a pivotal role in maintaining our campus and supporting our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Campus Facilities: Oversee and maintain all buildings and equipment on the HAFF campus, ensuring they are safe, functional, and welcoming.

  • Plan Projects: Plan and budget for service projects and small construction initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Team Leadership: Coordinate and oversee work team projects, fostering collaboration and a sense of community among team members.

  • Hands-On Construction: Manage and complete small construction projects, applying your building trade skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Tool Proficiency: Utilize a wide variety of tools effectively and safely to carry out maintenance and construction tasks.

  • Organizational Skills: Help keep shop facilities organized, ensuring an efficient and safe working environment.

  • Cultural Engagement: Demonstrate cultural competence and respect while engaging with local communities and committing to learning Haitian Creole for better communication.

  • Team Collaboration: Work well with diverse teams, contributing positively to group dynamics and project success.

Qualifications:

  • Basic building trade skills and strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience in project planning and management.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups.

  • Good Christian character, reflecting faith-based values in daily interactions.

  • Team player with a commitment to the mission of HAFF.

POSITION OPEN ONLY TO US CITIZENS 

This is a full-time, Christian missionary position. Housing is available on the campus of the Haitian American Friendship Foundation (HAFF) in Bohoc, Haiti. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Participate in the annual budget-making process for HAFF, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.

  • Financial Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with budgetary and financial policies to maintain fiscal responsibility.

  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow across multiple currencies, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions in Haiti.

  • Oversee Bookkeeping: ensures that the bookkeeper maintains precise financial records and bookkeeping practices, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Oversee Designated Funds: Track and manage designated funds, ensuring proper allocation and usage.

  • Purchasing Oversight: Oversee purchasing processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational needs.

  • Team Collaborator: Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive working environment.

  • Culturally Competent: Engage respectfully and effectively with local communities, demonstrating cultural sensitivity.

  • Learn Haitian Creole: Commit to learning Haitian Creole to enhance communication and relationship-building with community members.

  • Adaptable to Environment: Ability to work effectively in high humidity and heat conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial management.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

MISSIONARY EDUCATION DIRECTOR

POSITION OPEN ONLY TO US CITIZENS

We are looking for a passionate and qualified Missionary Education Director to lead our educational initiatives and foster a love for learning.

 

This is a full-time, Christian missionary position. Housing is available on the campus of the Haitian American Friendship Foundation (HAFF) in Bohoc, Haiti.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English as a Second Language: Develop and deliver engaging ESL lessons that empower students and enhance their language skills.

  • Teacher Selection & Development: Assist in the recruitment and selection of teachers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.

  • Serve as a mentor and coach to other educators, sharing best practices and encouraging effective teaching strategies.

  • Substitute Teaching: Step in as an occasional substitute teacher to ensure continuity of learning when needed.

  • Oversee Work-Study Program: Manage and oversee the work-study program, helping students gain valuable experience and skills.

  • Relationship Building: Form strong, supportive relationships with Haitian teachers, fostering collaboration and cultural exchange.

  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate sensitivity to local customs and practices while engaging with the community.

  • Language Learning: Commit to learning Haitian Creole to enhance communication and deepen connections with students and colleagues.

  • Be adaptable to the local environment and its unique challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Certified in Secondary Education and ESL.

  • Knowledge and command of French would be helpful.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Good Christian character, embodying faith-based values in your work.

  • Team player with a genuine passion for education and community service.

  • Agreement with the HAFF Statement of Faith.
