The Haitian American Friendship Foundation (HAFF) is overjoyed to announce a groundbreaking development in our journey of service and empowerment in Haiti. As of July 1, 2024, we proudly welcome Pastor Estephene Orelus as our first Haitian Director of Operations, a pivotal appointment that underscores our unwavering commitment to elevating local leadership and amplifying our impact on the ground.
Pastor Estephene is a beacon of hope and resilience in his community, embodying the very spirit of HAFF’s mission. His journey is nothing short of inspiring: after graduating from IPB in 2007 and earning his degree in Science of Environment (Community Development) in 2013, he dedicated himself to teaching English at IPB and serving as an administrative assistant, starting in 2014.
A man of deep faith and purpose, Pastor Estephene spent a decade as a teaching deacon before being ordained and planting a church in 2017—a congregation he continues to lead with unwavering dedication. In his pursuit of theological excellence, he enrolled in seminary in 2020 and is on track to graduate later this year, further solidifying his profound commitment to spiritual and community leadership.
Pastor Estephene’s influence has already made waves across HAFF, igniting a surge in morale and unity among our missionaries and workers. His visionary leadership and steadfast dedication promise to propel our programs and initiatives to unprecedented heights. We are confident that under his guidance, HAFF will continue to thrive, fostering hope and transformation across the central plateau of Haiti.
But Pastor Estephene’s impact extends far beyond his professional accomplishments. Together with his wife, Nicole, a devoted primary school teacher, he has opened his home to six family members fleeing the turmoil in Port-au-Prince, demonstrating his boundless compassion and commitment to serving others.
